Intership /Work-study Opportunities
Greetings, Faculty, Interns, Work-study Students,
We seek students to work with JCCPA through the summer and academic year. Students will be involved in helping to develop activities, request donations, plan and create a community event, and support and assist in facilitating "Jump for Jubilee," an Annual Arts fundraising/celebration.
Students will assist in developing and implementing JCCPA and become potential board members, tutors, after-school staff, or childcare workers. Presently we seek students interested in and with skills in Administration, Marketing, Fund Development, and Community Development. Students interested in the Performing Arts desire to work with children and the community and learn how to work with a non-profit organization.
Our Goal for interns/work-study Students is to:
Students help to design a curriculum that promotes children's education, exposure to the arts, and inner healing through safe, fun, exciting, and innovative interactive classes and workshops that will engage and address children's social, emotional, intellectual, and physical well-being and development 4-5 days per week, 3 to 4 hours per day using various art genre and literacy curricula.

Develop and apply marketing tools and strategies in establishing the Jubilee brand.
Develop and implement fundraising strategies.
Assist in grant development and submission.
Desired Requirements for Academic and Literacy (tutors) and Performing and Visual Arts Interns/work-study Students
Knowledge of General academics curricula of grades K- thru 12, i.e., math, reading, science
Knowledge of Computer Graphics and Design (IT)
Knowledge of the Art and Art Education
Knowledge in Dance
Knowledge of Theater
Knowledge of Music and Music Theory
Job Description:
Submit weekly lesson plans (this will be helpful when Intern/work-study students are unavailable) unless facilitating any physical lessons, i.e., ballet, gymnastics, and other activities that substituting staff cannot improvise.
Notify the coordinator at least three days in advance, unless in an emergency, when they will be absent from the program.
Ability to discuss ways of addressing issues of the child; Intern will confer with the After-school Coordinator, participating in group discussions as a check-in regarding children's progress, behavior, and any problems concerning the intern, internship, and children in the Jubilee program.
Research and investigate the Common Core Learning Standards and curriculum of elementary schools attended by children in the program to build a bridge between in-school and out-of-school learning
Create and provide innovative ways to engage children in instruction for 3 to 4 hours per day or 1 – 1 ½ hrs. per day, depending on the schedule of the intern/work-study student, Monday - Friday between the hours of 3:35 pm to 4:30 pm or 3:35 to 6:15 depending on the area of involvement. (Hrs. Subject to change depending on facility).
Match younger children with older children as Jubilee buddies to assist children in peer learning, accountability, and relationship building.
Arrive at least ½ - 1 hour early to prepare for after-school activities. ( Early time included in hrs. worked or interned)
Follow daily tasks to run the center smoothly.

General Requirements:
Participate in in-service training on Child Development
Participate in in-service training on Domestic Violence, Children who Witness and Past Trauma
Laptop/internet access
a clear, concise speaking voice and excellent telephone skills
Ability to work in word processing and database management with skills in Microsoft Office applications, i.e., (excel, word)
Ability to listen, read the situation, and react appropriately
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Energetic, confident, persistent
Ability to work effectively independently
The high degree of organization and attention to detail
Ability to think creatively
Team player
